Ruth Anne served as President of the RIE Organization for 6 years and has been an active member of the RIE Board for 21 years. She speaks and teaches on many topics related to the care, education, and development of infants and young children while having students in various locations in the USA, China, Israel, France, Portugal, Great Britain, Iceland, Norway, Lebanon, Brazil, Peru, New Zeeland, Australia and Hong Kong. Her warmth and depth of knowledge of the infant/family field and Modern Attachment Theory combine to make her a sought-after resource for professionals and parents in the U.S. and abroad. Her many years of experience as a teacher and leader at Resources for Infant Educarers® (RIE), Pacific Oaks College and Children’s School, and other college settings have given her a deep reverence for individual learners old and young, and the value of diverse cultural perspectives. A longtime member of Dr. Allan Schore’s Right Brain PsychotherapyStudy Group, she is a lifelong seeker of wisdom and loves to share not only her expertise but also her questions with other searchers.
Caring for young children is a lot of work, which can be either deeply satisfying or exhausting (and sometimes both). The RIE® Approach, called Educaring®, offers busy, hard-working parents ways to make living with their infants, toddlers, and older children easier all along the way. Diaper changes, mealtimes, and baths will happen — so why not learn to make the most of these times together an opportunity for loving connections to be built from the inside out? You may find that when the child is filled up from these moments he or she will be willing to play independently while you get time to do what you need to do. This workshop will give you new ways of thinking and practical tools that will build your child’s confidence, competence, and self-discipline while helping you to create a peaceful, harmonious family life in which all members feel respected.
