Couples Therapy – From Conflict to Connection – online session
Ioana Justina Iuga, MDiv., Dipl.Soc.Sc., CNSLR, Certified ITTM Clinician, is a certified counselor with professional competencies in couples therapy and the treatment of intergenerational trauma. She holds a Master of Divinity in Buddhist Studies and a Diploma in Social Sciences and Counseling Skills, combining professional counseling training with a broad interdisciplinary background.
Her work with couples focuses on communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, attachment, intimacy, and sexual difficulties within relationships. She helps individuals and couples explore the patterns that shape their relationships, understand what may be keeping them stuck, and develop more constructive ways of communicating and connecting.
As an ITTM (Intergenerational Trauma Treatment Model) Certified Clinician, Ioana also works with the impact of family histories and inherited relational patterns. Her approach recognizes that some of the difficulties we experience in relationships may be connected not only to what is happening in the present, but also to experiences and patterns carried across generations.
Ioana is additionally trained in ADHD: Everyday Strategies for Elementary Students, Medical Neuroscience, Living with Dementia, Clinical Psychology of Children and Young Adults, and Morality of Everyday Life. Her work is trauma-informed, relational, individualized, and grounded in respect, empathy, and genuine human connection.
She has extensive experience in both the United States and Romania, including volunteer work with organizations such as the Children’s Cancer Association, Sisters of the Road, Central City Concern, and the National Institute of Neurology and Neurovascular Diseases in Bucharest.
Ioana brings together professional knowledge, life experience, creativity, and a deeply human approach to her work. Passionate, socially engaged, and independent, she is known for her intuition, curiosity, and a touch of playful stubbornness—she even speaks “cat-neze.” 🙂
Her goal is not to tell you what your relationship should look like, but to help you understand what is happening, discover new possibilities, and make conscious choices about what comes next.
Is conflict taking over your relationship?
Do you keep having the same arguments without finding a way forward? Do you feel unheard, misunderstood, emotionally distant, or unsure whether your relationship can still be repaired?
You don’t have to wait until things get worse before asking for help.
This 90-minute one-on-one couples therapy session provides a confidential and supportive space to understand what is happening in your relationship, identify the patterns keeping you stuck, and begin exploring healthier ways of communicating and reconnecting.
In this session, you may learn to:
✅ Recognize the patterns behind recurring conflict
✅ Express your needs and feelings more clearly
✅ Listen to your partner without immediately becoming defensive
✅ Understand how past experiences may influence your relationship
✅ Identify unhealthy communication patterns
✅ Develop practical tools for managing disagreements
✅ Begin rebuilding emotional connection and trust
✅ Explore what each of you needs for the relationship to move forward
Is this for you?
💛 Couples who are experiencing frequent conflict or recurring arguments
💛 Partners who feel emotionally disconnected or misunderstood
💛 Couples struggling with communication, trust, boundaries, or unmet needs
💛 Partners who want to understand whether their relationship can be rebuilt and strengthened
💛 Couples who are willing to seek help and actively participate in creating change
Can therapy save your relationship?
No one can promise that.
Couples therapy is not about convincing you to stay together or telling you to separate.
It is about creating a space where you can understand your relationship more clearly, communicate differently, and explore whether meaningful change is possible.
If both partners are willing to participate, therapy can help create the conditions for greater understanding, connection, and change.
What happens next is ultimately up to you.
Sometimes couples rediscover their connection and find a way to rebuild their relationship.
Sometimes therapy reveals what needs to change.
And sometimes it provides the clarity needed to make a difficult decision about the future.
Whatever the outcome, you don’t have to navigate that process alone.
